Orion owns and operates the electricity distribution network providing power to central Canterbury. As one of the largest electricity distribution networks in New Zealand, Orion covers remote rural areas, regional towns and the city of Christchurch.

The network delivers electricity to more than 202,000 homes and businesses. Orion’s network extends over 8,000 kilometres across central Canterbury; from the Waimakariri River in the north, to the Rakaia River in the south.

  • STEP ONE - Call LEMACON: 03 349 4543

    We’ll arrange your FREE on-site Consultation with Craig Pethigt or James May; our Christchurch Contract Managers. Call 03 349 4543.

  • STEP TWO - Free On-Site Consultation

    Before recommending a Design, Lemacon’s Contract Manager assesses your site, discusses load requirements and possible connection points.

  • STEP THREE - Free Design & Quote

    Lemacon prepares a cost-effective solution for your electricity needs now and in the future. We submit the Design to Orion for approval. Once approved, we send you the Design and Quote (the free Design alone could save you up to $2000!).

  • STEP FOUR - Installation

    On acceptance of our Quote, installation is scheduled. On completion, LEMACON issues the Certificate of Compliance.

  • STEP FIVE - Billing

    LEMACON sends you the Invoice. We also send you and Orion, the final ‘As Built’ Design.

  • STEP SIX - Livening Agent

    Ask your Electrician to contact a Livening Agent, who will inspect the installation and turn the power on.

Our Electricians, Line Mechanics and Cable Jointers are all Registered, or are in the process of becoming Registered. LEMACON’s Contract Managers (all Registered Electrical Workers) are highly-experienced and skilled – their in-depth knowledge is vital for advising on connection options, then overseeing safe installation and maintenance.
